Weekend Looks: Fall/Winter Must-Haves

It has been some time since I did this kind of post. Decided to do this one on 3 different must-have items; the color opaque tights (yes! you are not limited to just the black), the metallic skinny jeans (gold), the bodycon dress...

Look One - Color Tights
1. Color Opaque Tights ( source )
2. White Chiffon Shirt ( source )
3. Slouchy Denim Shorts ( source )
4. Gold Necklace ( source )
5. Smoking Slipper - this one is from Foschini, not sure if they still have it.
6. Black Hobo Bag ( source )

Side Note: you can add a cardigan (elctric blue) with this if its chilly. If you are looking for a more dresed up look; you can replace the flats with a heel and wear a blazer (electric blue).

Look Two - Metallic Jeans

1. Metallic Jeans ( source )
2. Black Bodysuit ( source )
3. White Blazer ( source )
4. Nude Pumps ( source )
5. Chunky Pearl Bracelets ( source )
6. Black Clutch Bag ( source )

Side Note: this pairing is very chic, can also be done with a silver metallic jeans and instead of the blazer, wear a sweater.

Look Three - The Bodycon Dress

1. Bodycon Dress ( source )
2. Denim Jacket ( source )
3.Leopard Print Bootie ( source )
4.Brown Skinny Belt ( source )
5. Purple Clutch Bag ( source )
6.Statement Ring ( source )

Side Note: I just love the bodycon dress! And clearly the leopard print footwear. A black blazer would also work well here.

How To Wear: Brown Ankle Boots

OK! So today is not a boot kind of day! People who have been outside, tell me its very hot. Unfortunately (or fortunately) for me, I have a lot to do inside and will miss out on the sun/heat outside. I am not really a fan of the sun this time of he year anyway; I just want it to be cool/chilly/cold with no rain.

Today, I decided to dedicate my blog post to the Brown Ankle Boot, ankle boots are one of this season's must-haves and I prefer ankle boots to the long boots (absoltely nothing against the long boots of course)

Stacked Heel Sueded Bootie

This is a slouchy ankle boot in fau-suede, with a folded front and large belt strap. It's fitted with an almond toe, and has a 3.75 faux-stacked wood heel. Its available here

Style Item of Choice: Converse Sneakers

It is without a doubt that, if I were to choose between a flat shoe and a stiletto...I would absolutely go for the "flats"; even better if its a sneaker.

I love comfortable clothing, sometimes fashion and trends have nothing to do with it; as long as I feel good in what I am wearing. Not that I would wear "flats" for every occassion though (even though I secretly wish I could)

So Converse (some people call them Chucks or Chuck Taylors) are timeless and are styling them is up to you...whether you want to wear skinny jeans or a skirt...

The sneakers come in different colors and designs, some very creative and artistic I must say and it looks amazing.

Trends I Love: Aztec Prints

I love prints so much and my latest love are AZTEC PRINTS (sometimes called ethnic or tribal prints)
The trend definitely should be part of anyone's winter wardrobe.

HOW TO WEAR AZTEC PRINTS:

·         Get Advise; style blogs have been featuring this look for years; go to the internet for some advice and inspiration.

·         Don’t Overdo It; when you decide on wearing tribal prints be careful not to add things like feathers. Also when you are starting out, try to pair the prints with neutral colors.

·         Mix Your Prints; when doing this, look it up first. Lots of style bloggers (on Lookbook) mix the Aztec prints with other prints like animal prints, plaids and stripes. Remember to keep it simple though, no going overdo.

·         Add Texture; tribal prints are great with leather, suede and fur (faux)

·         Accessorize; sample the trend with accessories at first, get the bag, scarf or jewellery to see if you like it and if you want to incorporate it into your wardrobe.
Side note: Aztec prints look great paired with boots and/or denim.
